The making of…

Hand sourced for quality

I have a great love for French furniture and have several beautiful pieces in my home. I try to take several trips to France every year, to source old vintage furniture for my one-off design pieces, as well as smaller French homewares and accessories to sell here in the UK. I also source older English pieces and draw inspiration from the British landscapes I treasure, including my favourite holiday locations in Devon and the views of nature I enjoy from the cabin where I work, nestled in the garden of my home.

Hand designed for originality

I predominantly use chalk paint to create my designs, as it has such a lovely soft, muted, shabby chic style look and feel. For the inside of pieces such as cupboards and cabinets, I use eggshell or satin paint, as it provides a much more durable finish. All my designs are made to be used and loved, so it’s important to me that they’ll look beautiful for years to come.

To make sure each painted piece has a unique look and style and tells its own story, I use a range of decorative materials, techniques and finishes, including wallpaper, stencils and furniture decals.
